Arlington, Virginia - The Polyurethanes 2007 Technical Conference this year will augment the technical presentations with sessions on transport/logistics and being prepared for a crisis.
The chemical transport and transport logistics session is a panel discussion organised and moderated by Gary Edwards of BASF Corp., said a 19 July announcement from conference organiser the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI, formerly API).
The other session on crisis preparedness and media training will be presented by Sheila Hershow, executive vice president of Dezenhall Resources.
Both sessions are scheduled for the morning of Tuesday 25 September at The Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
Hershow will discuss developing a crisis response team, recognising potential crises in advance, managing crises when they occur, and identifying and learning from prior incidents.
The panel for the transport and logistics debate will cver issues and regulations on both rail and tank truck transport relevant to the chemical industry, as well as chemical customer needs from a command center perspective.
Sponsored by the CPI, this year's conference is being staged in partnership with the UTECH North America Exhibition. The global event has 100 technical papers in 19 different sessions, and more than 100 exhibitors.
