Massachusetts, US – Formlabs has expanded its portfolio of 3D printers with the addition of a new large-format SLA machine. The company claims the Form 4L is the world’s fastest large-format SLA 3D printer.
It was built on the company’s next-generation Low Force Display print engine. The machine is said to have a 99% print success rate. It has a build volume nearly five times the size of its smaller Form 4 printer, allowing large parts to be printed, and smaller parts can be made at high volume.
With printing speeds of up to 80mm/hour, large-scale prints can be delivered in less than six hours, and thousands of small parts can be made in a day. The company has also introduced a new cartridge design that reduces plastic waste by nearly two-thirds, and delivers the resin more quickly.
It is compatible with more than 20 different materials, including polyurethanes. It is now on sale, costing $9,999.
“We believe in driving innovation forward by providing the freedom and flexibility users need to bring their ideas to life,” said Dávid Lakatos, the company’s chief product officer. “Form 4L will enable users to solve bigger problems and bring big ideas to life at lightning-fast speeds, regardless of scale or complexity.”
