By David Reed, UT EditorLONDON-The organisers have just issued the final programme for the series of company-sponsored seminars running alongside UTECH Asia 2005, the major international polyurethanes exhibition for Asia-Pacific. This is given in full at the end of this notice.Running from 12 to 14 April in the Suntec City Complex in Singapore, this is the first UTECH Asia event held there since 1999, and has attracted more than 70 exhibitors, including a sizeable contingent from the People's Republic of China, according to IPI BV of Goor, the Netherlands, co-sponsors of the event. There will be over 25 presentations from companies in the seminar programme, added London-based Crain Communications Ltd, the second sponsor of the UTECH events. These hour-long presentations highlight many of the latest developments in polyurethane technology for the first time to an international audience in Asia-Pacific and, most importantly, attendance is FREE OF CHARGE to all visitors to the UTECH Asia event.Supporting companies include vital raw material suppliers such as Degussa Goldschmidt GmbH, Stepan Co., Air Products and Chemicals Inc. and GE Toshiba Silicones, as well as leading machinery manufacturers including Cannon Far East, based in Sinagpore, Krauss-Maffei and Hennecke of Germany, and Impianti OMS of Italy. Companies from the region are also participating in the seminars including Yantai Wanhua Polyurethanes Co., China's main MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate) maker, Maskimi Polyol, the natural-oil-based polyol maker from Malaysia, and Asia Polyurethane Manufacturing Pte Ltd, the region's leading systems house. The organisers confidently predict an eventual attendance exceeding 3000 people, based on the success of previous events and the region's strong growth in the last few years.Further details of the exhibition are available at www.utechasia.nl, with the seminar details available from Email: [email protected] The full programme of seminars is shown below:UTECH Asia 2005 Product Seminars Final ProgrammeTue, Apr 12, 2005Automotive seminar A, Room 208TimeTitleSpeaker nameCompany nameCountry10:30 Colo-fast, an aliphatic PU, a many-sided product with a variety ofapplications; and other PU products in the Recticel rangePierre CoppensRecticelBelgium11.30-Automotive parts manufacturing technology of Cannon in the Far East: 13:30Latest proposals to meet the needs of a global marketMax TavernaCannon GroupItaly Ching Keng Lee Cannon Far East SingaporeAutomotive seminar B, Room 20814:00PUR-CSM: A flexible technology for automotive applicationsIgor CroisetHennecke GmbHGermany15:00Advances in non-fugitive additives for flexible moulded applicationsJobst GrimmingerAir Products and Chemicals Inc.Germany16:00Innovative SkinForm technologyJens RappoldKrauss-Maffei Kunststofftechnik GmbHGermany17:00Latest developments of flame retardants for automotive applications Eric-Jack GerardAlbemarle Europe SPRLBelgiumTue, Apr 12, 2005Rigid foams seminar A, Room 20910:30Latest development in foam blowing agentsJinhuang WuArkema IncUSA11:30HFC foaming agents and flame retardants for PU rigid foams, highlighting Solkane 365 mfc and IXOL polyolsWerner KrueckeSolvay Fluor GmbHGermany12:30New rigid silicones with superior performance in hydrocarbon-blown foamSow Meng ChongGE Toshiba Silicones Asia Pacific PTE LtdSingaporeTue, Apr 12, 2005Rigid foams seminar B, Room 20914:00Insulation foams manufacturing technology of Cannon in the Far East: Latest news, interesting developmentsXue JianCannon Far EastBeijingPRC15:00Creating a competitive advantage: The use of silicone surfactants to optimise rigid foam performanceChristian EilbrachtDegussa Goldschmidt Polyurethane AdditivesGermany16:00Customised solutions in rigid foamChris ForbesAsia Polyurethane Manufacturing Pte LtdSingapore 17:00A new flexible core-changing system for foam-filling refrigerator cabinetsIgor CroisetHennecke GmbHGermanyWed, Apr 13, 2005Rigid foams seminar C, Room 20909:30Latest technologies for sandwich panel productionEraldo GrecoImpianti OMS SpAItaly10:30Palm-oil-based polyols for rigid polyurethane foamsSeng-Neon Gan and Kiran Kumar Ravoori Maskimi Polyol Sdn BhdMalaysia11:30Developments in the use of aromatic polyester polyols for rigid PUR/PIR foamsDavid NorbergStepan CoUSA12:30Turnkey solutions for rigid foam applicationsJens RappoldKrauss-Maffei Kunststofftechnik GmbHGermanyWed, Apr 13, 2005Flexible foams seminar A, Room 20809:30A new silicone surfactant that allows reduced flame retardant usageYew Fei LeeGE Toshiba Silicones Asia Pacific Pte Ltd Singapore10:30Innovative stabiliser packages for flexible foams used in automotive interiors, shoes and brassieresKerstin SchrinnerCIBA SCSingapore11:30The quality and productivity challenge to the Asian slabstock industryStephan WesterHennecke GmbHGermany12:30A broadly applicable flexible slabstock surfactant: How close can you get?Tammo BoinowitzDegussa Goldschmidt Polyurethane AdditivesGermanyWed, Apr 13, 2005Flexible foams seminar B, Room 20814:00Moulded foaming by Krauss-MaffeiJens RappoldKrauss-Maffei Kunststofftechnik GmbHGermany15:00New products for flexible foam makingYu JianmingYantai Wanhua Polyurethanes Co.P.R.
