Boston, Massachusetts – FRX Innovations’ Nofia flame retardant is to be used in the passenger cabin of cars from a German luxury automotive maker. FRX has not revealed the identity of the brand, but says this is the second production model to use Nofia, which is both non-leaching and non-toxic.
The additive is formulated into polyurethane foams made by its Chinese foaming partner Xianzhong. As well as giving flame retardant properties, Nofia meets stringent odour and fogging requirements.
‘We are excited about the expansion of Nofia in the luxury automotive market, and the strengthening of our relationship with Xianzhong,’ said Mark Lebel, FRX Innovations’ CEO. ‘Nofia continues to make inroads across the global automobile market as the transition from legacy toxic flame retardants to non-toxic solutions accelerates.’
