By Liz White, UT staffFrankfurt, Germany-The German foam association, the FSK, has chosen as its theme for this year's PU conference what it describes as a deliberately provocative motto, "Polyurethane-unbeatable."The meeting will be held 23-24 Nov in Heidelberg. The complete conference programme and registration forms can be requested from the FSK or downloaded from the Internet at www.fsk-vsv.de. FSK's study group on polyurethanes has arranged "a versatile programme with technical lectures from the area of automotive engineering and numerous technical applications that will address primarily questions relating to methods of production and materials and their qualities," said a press statement. The two-day meeting will also feature a workshop focusing on recycling and the changed situation for waste management. Completing the programme are presentations of economic and market data as well as a lecture on the virtual planning of production. An exhibition where plastic foam companies can present themselves and their products is also part of the two-day meeting. Dr Hans-W. Schloz, general manager of the FSK, expects about 250 participants and believes that the conference "will be an important event," where primary producers, machine manufacturers, fabricators, system vendors and mould manufacturers as well as service companies will be represented, according to the FSK statement, Further information can be obtained from the FSK, Am Hauptbahnhof 10, 60329 Frankfurt, tel.: 069/299207-0 or from the Internet www.fsk-vsv.de."
