High Point, North Carolina - Future Foam Inc. will expand its polyurethane foam manufacturing plant in High Point, investing $3.8 million and employing 12 more people.
The Iowa-based firm, which supplies foam to the furniture industry, will build a 24 000-square-foot (2230 square metre) addition to the existing 336 000-square-foot plant and install new equipment.
The High Point City Council voted on 7 Aug to grant the firm a $90 440 economic development incentive to go ahead with the expansion, after the payment was recommended by the High Point Economic Development Corp.
''We will proceed with expansion plans at our High Point facility within the next few weeks with an anticipated completion date of April, 2007,'' Bill Forest, general manager of the High Point plant, said.
