Loudon, Tennessee -- The US Polyurethane Foam Association (PFA) has elected Lynn Knudtson of Future Foam, Council Bluffs, Iowa, as its president, effective from the association's Business and Technical Session in Phoenix, Arizona in November.
The PFA is the trade association for US flexible polyurethane foam manufacturers and suppliers.
"Lynn has a deep understanding of the industry and has made significant contributions to the PFA as a member of the executive committee since 2008 and as technical counsel to the association," said Robert Luedeka, PFA executive director, in an official statement. "Lynn's experience providing technical information to related organisations and regulatory groups will be invaluable during his tenure as president. He has played a key role in helping PFA maintain its position as the authoritative resource for scientific information related to flexible polyurethane foam."
Knudtson manages regulatory compliance for Future Foam, a global manufacturer offlexible PU foam, with five foam productionplants and 14 foam-fabrication sites in the US and Asia.
In the past 30 years, Knudtson has served in management positions with chemical manufacturers, independent laboratories, and regulatory compliance consultants. He has also been active with the American Chemical Society, the American Industrial Hygiene Association, and the American Society for Testing and Materials.
In accepting the role, Knudtson said: "This is a position I am honoured to hold. PFA plays an integral role in advocating for the flexible polyurethane foam industry and has earned a reputation among a spectrum of stakeholders as being an organization with great integrity and well-earned credibility."
