Seattle, Washington - Gaco Western's FireStop product has passed further evaluation on building code and performance requirements, the spray foam insulation company said in an 18 Aug announcement.
GacoFireStop was subjected to the IAMPO ES Evaluation Report Number 0233, which Gaco said meant that building code officials and contractors could have confidence in the evaluation report now available on the company's website.
Last month, GacoFireStop passed an industry standard Appendix X flammability test for the second time.
"We have repeatedly demonstrated the ability of GacoFireStop to pass the AC377 Appendix X , ensuring performance with any degree of foam trimming. We now have the report in hand to help code officials understand and approve this innovative product," said ceo Peter Davis.
IAPMO ES is built upon an 83-year-old foundation of experience, expertise and quality, Gaco said in the announcement. It is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) per the ISO/IEC Guide 65, General Requirements for Bodies Operating Product Certification Systems.
Evaluation reports generated by IAPMO ES represent the highest degree of integrity in showing compliance with the International Building Code and International Residential Code, the company said in the statement. IAPMO evaluations are particularly useful to code officials by compiling testing information into a usable format and interpreting that information for specific code requirements.
