By Liz White, UT staffWilton, Connecticut-GE Advanced Materials' Silicones business has appointed Tri-iso Inc. of Claremont, California, as its West Coast sales agent for polyurethane foam additives. Tri-iso will provide customers with local support for GE's Niax silicone surfactants and catalysts, Geolite modifiers and tin catalysts, said a GE Silicones statement. Tri-iso will cover Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. The growing polyurethane foam industry is an important area for GE," said Tony Lanchak, global business leader, urethane additives for GE-Silicones, in the GE statement. "Tri-iso's technical expertise in polyurethane chemistry will be a valuable and convenient resource for customers who are looking for support in their selection of polyurethane foam additives," Lanchak added. He described Tri-iso as "well established in the industry," saying the company will help educate West Coast customers about GE's products through technical seminars and other services. Speciality chemical distributor Tri-iso, established in the 1970s, focuses on formulators of polyurethane and polyurea chemistries.
