Tacoma, Washington – A new high-performing closed-cell polyurethane foam from General Plastics is designed to provide an RF-transparent protective layer for radomes and antennae.
The foam is for applications where low dielectric constant and low loss are required. It is supplied in three, four and six pcf sheets or blocks, and custom densities are available to satisfy specific dielectric performance requirements.
Large blocks are also available to allow complex shapes to be machined without the need for bonding sheets together.
The material is compatible with processing temperatures up to 177°C. It does not absorb water, and therefore its dielectric performance is not impacted by exposure to rain, snow or sea spray.
