Tacoma, Washington -- General Plastics Manufacturing Co. has received a 2012 Boeing Performance Excellence Award, for quality and delivery of its products.
"Being honoured four years in a row for outstanding achievement clearly demonstrates General Plastics' unwavering pursuit of consistency - in both the quality of our products, and delivery of what we promise," said president Bruce Lind, in a company announcement.
General Plastics has been a Boeing supplier for half a century, making flight deck and cabin interior part for all Boeing 737, 747, 767, 777 and 787 aircraft.
The company produces high-strength, lightweight, flame-resistant composite core materials and edge closeout for honeycomb structures. These products are used in Boeing's aircraft flight deck pads, passenger cabin walls and ceilings, passenger compartment overhead stow bins, service-class divider partitions, food-service galleys, and lavatories.
Tacoma, Washington-based General Plastics develops and makes rigid and flexible polyurethane foam products, and exports products to 25-plus countries for the aerospace and defence, nuclear containment, composite core, prototype and modelling, construction, dimensional signage, testing, marine, and renewable energies industries.
