Chongqing, China -- The Brose Group, a German producer of doors, seats and motors, last week broke ground for a plant in the southwest China municipality of Chongqing.
The plant, its first in the southwest China region, initially will employ 250 people and will start production late next year. The facility will produce seats, window regulators, cooling fan modules and lock systems.
The parts will be supplied to customers in central and western China, the company said in a statement.
The plant will make a full range of Brose's products in the long term.
Brose currently has five plants and a workforce of 2700 people in China. In 2010, its China operations generated Euro 480 million ($633 million) in sales revenue."
