Stuttgart, Germany – Systems house Lakfa Isolierstoff has become the latest member of Germany-based foamed plastics association the FSK.
Lakfa was founded in 1945 and started making paint and paint strippers. It was not until the 1960s that the firm started specialising in polyurethane chemistry.
The company is based at Rellingen, 17 Km (11 miles) northwest of Hamburg in northern Germany.
In addition to polyurethane coatings, Lakfa also makes portable polyurethane machinery. This is now in its seventh generation, the company said.
Now, the company specialises in sound-deadening applications and has developed coating materials to reduce structure-borne and air-borne noise as well as cutting down on the amount of condensation which forms under metallic structures.
