Bürs, Austria - Vibration insulation firm Getzner Werkstoffe has developed a fire retardant version of its elastic polyurethane anti-vibrational material.
The Austrian company said it developed the Sylomer FR range of fire-retardant materials in response to market demand.
"Issues relating to fire protection and sustainable construction are becoming increasingly important during the installation of vibration-isolating solutions," commented Andreas Augustin, Head of Research & Development at Getzner Werkstoffe, in a 16 April news release. He added, "Fire-retardant materials are now in demand, as requirements all over the world with regard to fire protection are becoming more stringent."
Sylomer FR can be used for the resilient bedding of buildings and other structures, such as tunnels, or is used in combination with fire protection plates, in wall and flooring superstructures, vehicle interiors, and shipbuilding. Getzner said the material meets a number of international fire protection standards.
