New York -- Artist and furniture designer Nick DeMarco must be delighted that the UK's Daily Mail picked up on one of his designs, albeit from back in 2010. The prolific tweeter's Daydreamer Desk idea, featured in the Mail Online on 17 Feb 2013, has been picked up and repeated across the world.
Judging by the comments on the story, not many think the design will be good for work rate. "I want my employees to sleep at home and focus on work at work. Casual attitudes to work are why the UK is screwed. Pride in your work doesn't include having a little snooze," was a typical reaction.
Foamers would probably be pleased if the concept took off.
The DeMarco desk, covered with a layer of foam, and topped with a neoprene sheet, is designed to encourage creativity. But perhaps employers shouldn't worry: his designs are bespoke, and not likely to be available on the high street.
