London - The global demand for polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) is to reach 369.3 kilotonnes by 2018 from 267.1 kt in 2012, growing at a CAGR (compound average growth rate) of 5.5% from 2012 to 2018, according to Transparency Market Research.
In terms of revenue, the market is expected to reach $1.18 billion in 2018, growing at a CAGR of 7.5% from 2012 to 2018.
Transparency Market Research said PUDs are one of the most rapidly growing segments of the polyurethane coatings industry, due to the introduction of regulations on the use of solvent-based products.
PUD demand is expected to increase in line with the expected growth in end-use applications such as automotive, textiles and the furniture and interiors industry, the market research company said.
