Leslie, Michigan -- Huron Technologies Inc. has launched a new release coating from, 7887, which is awater-based mould-release, formulated for in-mould painted polyurethane applications.
"This technological development is versatile, allowing Huron Technologies to control desired gloss quality as specified by the customer," the company said in its press statement.
According to Huron, Release Coating 7887 also increases the number of parts which can be made before cleaning moulds by minimising build-up through a blend of wax and silicone.
Release Coating 7887 is an adjustment to existing technology.
Properities Huron lists are:
• Smooth defect free parts which replicate fine surface details of the mould
• Dry, tack free surface feel;
• Excellent resistance to scuff and mar.
The agent was initially developed for use with arm rests, but Huron believes it would also be useful for automotive steering wheels and related handles.
The release agent is available in 5 gallon containers and 55 gallon drums.
Huron Technologies says it has been a custom formulator of release coatings, conditioners and cleaners for manufacturers moulding parts from polyurethane, composite, rubber and
Concrete for nearly 20 years.
