London -- A London park pathway is set to be illuminated by a polyurethane-based coating which absorbs light energy during the day and glows at night.
Surrey-based Pro-Teq Surfacing UK will apply its product to the main commuter route through William Parnell Park in Fulham.
Starpath, which is a spray-on coating that can be used on any solid surface, works by absorbing UV rays during the day and emitting them at night - creating a blue glow that lights up the surface.
Hammersmith and Fulham council said the application, which is set to cost nearly £25,000 (EUR 30,000), was also chosen due to its repair reinforcement qualities said council leader, Nicholas Botterill.
