Schwaebisch Hall, Germany -- GOL Linhas Aereas, a Brazilian airline, has placed an order with Recaro to supply its seating for 86 aircraft.

Hillier: happy to work with GOL

Gol Linhas has chosen the German company’s BL3530 seats to equip 60 new planes, and to replace seats in 26 others. It is the first time that the companies have worked together, Recaro said.

The seats are designed for short-to-medium-haul flights, and feature inflight charging points for electronic devices and holders for them, Recaro said. It added that the seat is designed to be very flexible and can be modified easily. The back rest is designed to save space, and the light-weight seat reduces fuel consumption, said Recaro.

Mark Hillier, CEO of Recaro Aircraft Seating, said, ‘The design allows the ideal ergonomic placement of tablet devices in all standard sizes. This enables passengers to use their devices comfortably from any viewing angle.’

Paulo Miranda, chief experience officer at GOL, said his company chose the seats for their ‘high level of passenger comfort with innovative connectivity solutions’.
