The firm, a wholly owned subsidiary of Degussa Corp., has also boosted the prices of its other polyurethane additives, including Gorapur and Tegotrenn release agents and Ortegol anti-scorch products, by $0.20/lb. Prices of the firm's range of tin catalysts are not affected, the 1 Oct. announcement added."Degussa has worked diligently to offset increased manufacturing costs by investing in its facilities and increasing productivity," said Ron Birnbaum, polyurethane additives business director for Goldschmidt in NAFTA (the North American Free Trade Area), in the prepared statement. "We will continue in these efforts. However, it is no longer possible to absorb rising costs without increasing prices," the statement concluded."
