New Albany, Ohio -- Commercial Vehicle Group Inc. has made Gordon Boyd president of Seating Systems, a role in which he will continue to report to Mervin Dunn, CVG's president and ceo.

Boyd will oversee CVG's global seating operations and plans with a continuing focus on growth in China, Australia, India, Brazil and South Africa, the company said. Milt Kniss, executive vice president and general manager of Seating Systems, will report directly to Mr. Boyd.

"The geographic scope of seating systems and the aggressive initiatives we have identified requires substantial leadership, effort and talent," said Dunn in CVG's 14 Jan announcement. "Collectively, Gordon and Milt offer more than 75 years of industry experience and I am confident that this partnership will help insure short-term progress and long-term success for CVG.

New Albany, Ohio-headquartered CVG supplies integrated systems for the global commercial vehicle market, including heavy-duty trucks, construction and agriculture and speciality and military transport. Its products include suspension-seat systems, interior-trim systems, such as instrument and door panels, headliners, cabinetry, moulded products and floor systems, cab structures and components, and more. The company has operations throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

The company has announced consolidation recently, closing a facility in Liberec, Czech Republic and consolidating its production and staff into an existing CVG facility nearby. In December, CVG also announced that it planned to close its Norwalk, Ohio, truck-cab assembly facility. This action followed Navistar's decision to insource the cab-assembly operations from Norwalk into their assembly facility in Escobedo, Mexico. This closure will affect about 120 employees at the facility. Norwalk is expected to continue assembling for Navistar until April 2010.
