Amberg, Germany – Grammer, which makes automotive seating, looks set to increase its share of the US industrial truck seat market to more than 25%.

The company said it has won a major new customer of its seating systems. 'One of the leading US manufacturers of industrial trucks will soon be exclusively supplied by Grammer,' it said.

The company's Tupelo, Mississippi site will supply the seats, according to a press release.

This is a great success and an important step in expanding our presence in the US, said Hartmut Muller, Grammer's CEO. 'With cross-border consolidation in the material handling sector, we want to grow with our customers,' he added.

The company added that many of its industrial truck seat designs come with integrated multifunction arm rests.

These new model seats are significantly lower than previous models. This makes it possible to fit more comfortable seats with more functions on to trucks.

Grammer declined to name the customer at this point. It said it had an exclusive arrangement in the US for 2018.

'That we now cover a quarter of the US market with our products is a special pleasure for us,' Muller added.
