Amberg, Germany — Grammer won the first ever award for passenger seats at the German ETM Awards on 30 June.
The ETM award is regarded as an important indicator of brand positioning within the commercial vehicle sector. It is awarded after a survey of 11,400 readers of trade journals produced by ETM including Fernfaher, Lastauto, Omnibus and Transaktuell, and a jury of people from DEKRA, Germany's largest automotive inspection company have judged all the entries.
Grammer said that the award reflects its innovative seating systems for off-road vehicle and trucks, buses and trains. This year the firm said its commercial vehicle segment, which includes passenger seats, saw sales rise by 9.8% to EUR 134 m in the first quarter.
'The award is a confirmation of our work in passenger seats. With our new product portfolio of bus passenger seats for urban transport but also short and long distance routes which will come to the market soon, we would like to further extend our market position in the future,' said Daniel Gradl, VP rail & bus.
