San Clemente, California -- USBlanks has become the exclusive manufacturer and distributor of Green Foam in North America, Japan, Europe, and Costa Rica, a 24 March joint statement said.
Gardena, California-based USBlanks, a major manufacturer of polyurethane surfboard blanks, will work with Green Foam to introduce the company's recycled rigid PU foam to its markets worldwide, the statement said.
Green Foam uses a "cradle to cradle" process to reintroduce PU foam waste produced in surfboard manufacture back into the parent product, thereby creating a 'greener' manufacturing process. The company also has patents pending for new technology and is focused on eliminating PU waste in the future.
"Partnering with Green Foam allows us to increase our established recycling abilities, which include PU and EPS (expanded polystyrene) foam scrap, paper and wood," said Kimberly Thress of USBlanks. "Our continual reduction in our waste footprint sets the standard for a greener blank manufacturing process worldwide," she added. (RD)
