Walton on Trent, United Kingdom – Bio-polyol innovator Green Urethanes Limited has rebranded to Natural Foams Technology with focus on the furnishing, bedding and automotive industries.
In a press release, company director Jeff Rowlands said the change is a reflection of the company's commitment to working exclusively with natural oil polyols following its multi-year research effort in the field.
In an interview with UTECH-polyurethane.com last year, Rowlands outlined the importance of a company's choice in raw materials when considering how to meet today's sustainability challenges.
As reported we reported last year, Natural Foams Technology - then going by its previous name - developed a bio-renewable polyol in partnership with specialty chemicals supplier Clariant. Using the Swiss company’s Exolit OP 560 additive in order to reduce the volumes used – 80% less, said Rowlands - and subsequent heat, stress, and extraction tests showed no trace of the suppressant in the finished foams he added.
