Atlanta, Georgia - SIP Supply llc has been selected to supply modular training houses, for use in military-style training exercises, using Greenix structural polyurethane insulated panels, which can withstand a 4 lb (1.8 kg) C-4 explosive charge, a recent statement from SIP said.
The explosives tests, which took place at a training facility at Quantico, Virginia, showed that the Greenix SIP remained intact with only partial damage, and the panel was not breached, the statement said.
"Frankly, we were very surprised at the results," said president of SIP Supply, Darrell Simpson. "We know that our ICC-equivelant testing showed impressive results for high wind loads compared to most SIPs in the industry, but we had no idea our Greenix Panels could endure this type of abuse. The results we've seen from these tests have opened up more than a few doors for us within the military and government sectors," Simpson added.
SIP said that currently three more training houses are in production, with additional orders in the pipeline. (RD)
