Florida, US – Italian design house Gufram has once again collaborated on a design project with US rapper and designer A$AP Rocky. This time, they have created a carpet and cushions combo that resembles New York’s Manhattan skyline. It is made from polyurethane and wool, and was on show at the recent Design Miami exhibition.
The Skyline Carpet collaboration between Turin-based Gufram and A$AP Rocky’s Hommemade design brand measures 3m by 3m. The flat carpet depicts a bird’s eye view of the southern part of Central Park and the streets around it. The Midtown Manhattan skyscrapers are recreated as cushions, which can be used as seating and surfaces.
This is Gufram’s second project with A$AP Rocky, after the Shroom Cactus that was shown at Design Miami in 2022. This was a reinterpretation of Gufram’s 50-year-old Cactus, with the addition of hand-painted, brightly coloured mushrooms growing on and around it.
