Midland, Michigan -- Dow Chemical Co. has appointed Guillermo Novo as vice president of Dow Polyurethanes, a global business group that includes Dow's Propylene Oxide, Propylene Glycol, Isocyanates and Polyols businesses. In this new role, Novo also becomes global business director for Dow Polyols.
"Guillermo's vast global experience makes him well qualified to take the helm at Dow Polyurethanes," said Jim McIlvenny, senior vice president, Dow Performance Products, in a 5 Jan Dow statement. McIlvenny said Novo was a 24-year chemical industry veteran with wide experience.
Novo joined Dow when the company bought Rohm and Haas in April 2009. He succeeds Pat Dawson, who has been named president of the Asia Pacific and India regions for Dow.
Dow says it is the world's largest producer of propylene oxide (PO), polyether polyols, as well as being a leading producer of quality aromatic isocyanates.
