Orangeburg, South Carolina-Gulbrandsen Chemicals Inc. will increase the price of all its polyurethane catalysts from 1 Sept 2006 or as contracts permit. The price for T-Cat 110 and stannous octoate dilutions will rise by 15 percent and the price of A-Cat amine catalysts by 7 percent, the company announced.
A Gulbrandsen statement said that the increase is necessary "to help offset the continuing pressure from raw material costs, energy, and transportation that have had a significant impact on the manufacture and delivery of these products."
The Orangeburg-based chemical supplier says its T-Cat stannous octoate and A-Cat amines are used primarily as catalysts in a wide range of flexible polyurethane foams for residential and automotive seating and for bedding.
