St Paul, Minnesota -- H.B. Fuller Co. celebrated the official opening of a new manufacturing facility in Nanjing, China, 17 May.
The plant, part of the company's strategic growth plan, is the first multinational reactive adhesives plant in China and is located in the Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park.
"We continue to invest in the success of our customers, and the construction of this world-class facility demonstrates our commitment to the Asia Pacific region," said Jim Owens, H.B. Fuller's president and chief executive officer, in a company statement. "This facility enables us to bring a higher level of value to our relationships in the Asia Pacific region, enhances our competitive position and supports our long-term growth strategy."
H.B. Fuller said the new Nanjing plant will produce urethanes and other reactive chemistries for customers in the construction, filter, flexible packaging, solar, textile, window and woodworking markets.
"This facility, combined with the research and development expertise in our Shanghai technical centre, will enable us to comprehensively serve our customers' needs," added Kevin Gilligan, H.B. Fuller's vice president for the Asia Pacific region.
