Hannover, Germany -- Foam converter Hanno-Werk GmbH & Co. KG of Laatzen, Hannover, has developed a new, flame-resistant fire-protection tape for joint sealing called Hannoband-BG1 BSB.
The pre-compressed tape is impregnated with a patented fire protection material, allowing it to reach fire-grading periods of El 120.
The tape is flame resistant according to DIN 4102 T1 suitable for direct weathered joints. It has the appropriate safety for fire protection of both window and doors, as well as for wall sockets or for joints between masonry components.
A third party fire-resistance test to BG1 DIN 18542:2009 by MFPA Leipzig group confirmed Hanno's claims.
Also, audits were conducted in collaboration with a Swiss window and door manufacturer. These showed, for example that for a 50-mm wide block frame, joint sealing with Hannoband-BG1 BSB offers a fire resistance period of 35 minutes.
