Alpharetta, Georgia - US Raw materials expert and distributor Hanson Group llc announced 9 Sept that it has bought Aragon Elastomers llc.
Hanson says Aragon Elastomers, which is based at a 1860-sq.m plant in Louisville, Colorado, is a leading supplier of cast urethane parts, including mouldings for rock climbing holds, polyurethane wheels and cast parts for arduous mining outlets. It also makes branded soft urethane moulds -- Forti-Mold and Forti-Cast - where no silicone is required, for casting concrete into rock and other shapes.
"Aragon Elastomers specialises in custom urethane-formulated systems used for casting to meet customers' needs," said Hanson's statement.
Hanson Group said it has worked with Chuck Demarest (the previous owner of Aragon Elastomers) for many years and recognises the company as an innovative leader in the cast urethanes industry.
Demarest, who has long played an active role in the US Polyurethane Manufacturers' Association, is "an outstanding visionary and a leading-edge chemist," said Hanson.
He has joined Hanson's team of experts, adding years of expert experience to its development team, said the company. Hanson Group and Aragon's laboratory and production team "will collaborate with various manufacturing partners to create unique technologies for urethane castings," Hanson said.
According to the statement, Hanson is "thrilled with the sudden growth and expanded opportunities now available to its customers."
Hanson was formed over 14 years ago with the aim of meeting customer needs for hard to find materials such as single-sourced products, discontinued technologies and also new technology needs that were not being met.
Since then, Hanson claims success in developing these products and commercially keeping inventory on hand to meet customer requirements.
