Duluth, Georgia - The Hanson Group llc, in partnership with Aceto Corp., has announced that it can now supply commercial quantities of Acetocure MCDEA [methylene-bis-(chlorodiethylaniline)].
The patent on this polyurethane curative has recently expired, and Hanson said in a 17 Dec statement that it can now provide the material at a competitive price. The company has capacity to make 1000 tonnes a year of the material.
Hanson describes MCDEA as a special curative used in the manufacture of cast polyurethane elastomers, where it helps provide the good resistance to high temperatures and chemicals needed for these high-performance parts.
The Hanson Group said extensive testing by outside laboratories has indicated the high quality and purity of Acetocure MCDEA.
Since it was set up over 11 years ago, The Hanson Group said, it has looked for "single sourced products and discontinued technologies as well as new technology needs that weren't being met."
