Chongqing, China – Adhesives maker Hantuo Technology is planning trial runs at its new TPU facilities in March.
The company told UTECH-polyurethane.com that the plant will have capacity for:
- 8kT/year TPU;
- 4kT/year waterborne PUD;
- 6kT/year waterborne adhesives;
- 6kT/year hot melt adhesive;
- 4kT/year auto interior treatments; and
- 2kT/year for alumite coating.
The plant is located in Chongqing’s Changshou Economic and Technological Development Area. It will cover 26,700 m2 and it will create 70 new jobs according to an environmental filing. Construction started a year ago.
Hantuo is a Sino-Korean joint venture set up in 2010. It has another site in Chongqing, and research centres in Shanghai and Korea.
Its portfolio covers applications such as wooden furniture, automobile, printing and packaging, hygienic products and construction, said the company’s website.
China’s waterborne adhesive market, pegged at 30kT last year, has been growing at about 18%/year recently, the fastest among the country’s downstream segments for waterborne PUD.
