Seoul — Hanwah, a Korean, isocyanate manufacturer, saw performance in its toluene diisocyanate business improves as the global TDI price remained strong due to tight demand-supply balance, the company said in its third quarter 2106 announcement.
However, the numbers are impossible to compare quarter to quarter since Hanwah incorporated the TDI business into its Hanwah Chemical Corporation (HCC) division from March this year. In the equivalent 2015 quarter TDI sales were Won 53 bn ($ 45.9m).
Overall the company had sales of Won 2,368 bn in Q3 2016 up 26.4% on the Won 1,887 bn in the 2015 quarter. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation were Won 1,006 bn in the quarter.
