“Targeted investments in complementary leading technologies are an integral part of our global strategy. With this acquisition, we will reinforce the position of our Adhesive Technologies business as a global market and technology leader,” said Henkel ceo Hans Van Bylen.
Henkel believes that the foam-in-place gasket market has significant growth potential and that Sonderhoff's machinery will help it to take advantage of an increasingly digital sector.
Sonderhoff’s portfolio includes specialised polyurethane and silicone foams as well as customised dosing equipment and automation. The firm had sales of around EUR 60 m ($ 67 m) in 2016 and employed around 280 poeple in five global locations.
