Shenzhen, China – Henkel has outlined its ranges of polyurethane adhesives for the intimate apparel market. They enable parts to be made without seams, and have a soft feel when fully cured that can stretch as the body moves, the company said.

Adhesives offer a number of advantages over traditional underwear construction techniques such as sewing, Henkel said. These include high production efficiency, compatibility with a number of base materials, and flexible design.
The adhesive range also includes products for the sports and outdoors sectors. The company said that its hot melt adhesives glue well to PTFE films, building a strong waterproof barrier without affecting the breathability of technical outdoor clothes made from PTFE-coated fabrics.
