Shanghai, China -- Polyurethane equipment specialist Hennecke opened a new facility in Shanghai Monday 5 Sept, a day ahead of the opening of the UTECH Asia/PU China event in Pudong, the other side of thre city.
Andrew Chan, general manager of the operation, Hennecke Machinery (Shanghai) Ltd, said the company's Euro 2 million investment in the new plant was only the first step. Growth is so high in the Asia Pacific region that Hennecke's owners, investement group Adcuram, would like to see a further expansion, to allow the company to further exploit the 10 percent and above growth the PU sector is seeing in the region.
At the opening, a group of some 200 guests, including customers from Hennecke's car seat making customers in China, and a large group of Korean visitors, saw Hennecke's latest project, an oval conveyor automotive seating line company has built for a seat maker in India.
The new purpose built plant with labs and offices, will employ 50 to start with, but has space for an additional 20 personnel which Hennecke will start to recruit soon. The site will form the German-based company's competence centre for both moulded foam for automotive seating and for refrigeration, another high-growth sector in China and Asia-Pacific.
