Hyderbad, India – Hennecke sales are growing at about twice the rate of the Indian polyurethane market and the company is expanding sales into Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
The Saint-Augustin, Germany-based company sells two or three lines into the country, according to Kambhampati Prasad, country manager.
In a telephone interview, Prasad said that the Indian PU market is growing at around 7-8%/year and that his company's sales are growing in the 15% range.
'Hennecke anticipates the Indian market will continue to grow. We opened our own sales office here about a decade ago and we are the only international PU processing machinery brand having an office in the country,' Prasad added. He said other non-Indian machinery companies operate in the country through agents.
The company has seen a surge in polyurethane demand after selling its first machine to Sheela Foam in 2006. It opened its office in Hyderabad, Telegana in 2009 to support the company's sales and service operation.
Prasad's office is also responsible for the whole of South Asia. He said: 'We have opened the Bangladesh market recently and supplied the first line to the country. Both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh carry a lot of potential,' he said.
