Saint Augustin, Germany – Hennecke officially opened its new state-of-the-art application technology centre as part of this year's German Association of Foamed Plastics and Polyurethanes (FSK) International Polyurethane Conference.
The conference drew more than 200 representatives from the polyurethane industry to Saint Augustin, where Hennecke opened the 1,000m2 research centre at its company HQ.
The conference was jointly organised by Hennecke and FSK.
At the opening, Rolf Trippler, Hennecke’s md of sales, traced the historic arc of the company from its foundation to today, describing its innovations and milestones.
The event featured presentations from the companies Engel Austria, Magna Steyr and Audi, which focused on lightweight automotive construction plus live demonstrations.
Among the live demonstrations, was the production of a load floor module using PU chopped strand mat spray technology, the production of a fibre composite part and ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe’s InCar plus innovation.
According to Hennecke, ThyssenKrupp’s process “optimises efficiency in drive, body and chassis components through the use of intelligent lightweight construction.”
Hennecke said the TechCenter gives it the ability to develop products and optimise processes as well as provide raw materials testing under close-to-production conditions.
