Kuytun, Xinjiang - Xinjiang Heshan Juli Chemical has a 150kT/year TDI project pending regulatory approval, according to the company's environmental impact report issued this June.
The project is located at the National Kuitun-Dushanzi Economic and Technology Development Zone in Kuytun, Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang. The proposal is for a plant that will cover 1.2m m2.
The plant is scheduled to open by October 2017 and will create 700 jobs. It has RMB2.2bn ($354m) investment earmarked and is expected to generate RMB2.5bn annual sales when in operation.
Heshan Juli is a subsidiary of Yantai Juli Chemistry based in Yantai, Shandong. Yantai Juli claims to be China's only non-state TDI maker with 80kT/year current capacity.
In 2014 China had 890kT/year TDI capacity and produced 720kT, according to the China Polyurethane Industry Association (CPUIA). Domestic TDI consumption was also at 720kT, including 500kT used in the PU foam market, 85kT used in the coatings market, 110kT used in the elastomer market and 35kT usedin the adhesives market.
