Stockholm, Sweden -- Hilding Anders has bought the Netherlands-based bedding company Eastborn - its third acquisition in 2007."The Dutch market is important for Hilding Anders as it affects the Benelux area and provides opportunities in the nearby German market," said Anders Palsson, president and ceo of Hilding Anders, in a 4 July company statement."With our increased capacity we will also be able to serve our private brand customers to an even greater extent," he added.Eastborn produces beds and mattresses in the upper price segment and has well known brands such as Sand, Master and Lund. It also supplies beds to the growing cruise ship segment, and will serve as a compliment to Hilding Anders' existing company, Pullman, which sells premium products, according to the statement.In May Hilding Anders purchased Croatian bedding company Perfecta, and then in June it bought Czech company Tropico in an effort to exploit the growing "consumer purchasing power" in the Czech Republic and its surrounding areas.According the company's statement the latest acquisition is only the beginning, as it continues to "take further initiatives to grow into Western Europe this year."ss"
