Nanjing, Jiangsu – Hongbaoli New Material (HNM), a subsidiary of China’s polyol and rigid PU foam maker Nanjing Hongbaoli, signed contract with Suning Universal in January 2014 to supply exterior insulation panel systems
for the latter’s future real estate projects in cities including Shanghai and Nanjing.
Suning Universal is a diversified real estate development company with an increasing focus on luxury hotels. It is yet to become a top-tier player but it plans to use the panels in its future real-estate projects in Shanghai and Nanjing.
Suning Universal also heads one of China's largest appliance retailer, Suning Appliances.
HNM currently has 7.5m m2/year capacity for flame-retarded PU insulation panels and has facilities with another 7.5 m m2/year capacity for insulation panels in the pipeline. According to an earlier announcement by Nanjing Hongbaoli, China has been adding 2bn m2/year new buildings annually in recent years and a third of its existing 42bn m2 building space is in need of energy-saving renovation.
