Everberg, Belgium - Global chemical manufacturer the Huntsman Corporation has announced it will increase the prices of its Irogran, Krystalgran and Krystalflex thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU) by between 5 and 15 percent in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Indian Subcontinent as of 1 October, or where contracts allow.
The company said in the 21 August statement that the increases reflect escalating prices of raw materials caused by record-high crude oil prices, which in turn impact upon prices of raw materials such as benzene, adipic acid and intermediate polyesters.
Huntsman added, "the increase will help to ensure that the Polyurethanes division of Huntsman can provide its customers with an unbroken supply of quality TPU products in a competitive and fast growing environment."
