The Woodlands, Texas - Huntsman Corp. has appointed a Dr Derek Crofton as supply chain director for its polyurethanes division in the Americas. Crofton takes on this role after almost three decades of service with Huntsman and brings extensive experience gained in Europe, USA and Latin America. He replaces Mark Dearman, who has become operations director at the company's Geismar plant in Louisiana and general manager of Rubicon llc.
Crofton, most recently a director of Huntsman's PU business in South America and its thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) business in the Americas, is now responsible for all Huntsman's PU planning, logistics, blending and warehouse facilities across the region.
Huntsman said Crofton will also continue to oversee PU activity in the key emerging markets of South America.
According to Huntsman, Crofton's in-depth knowledge of its polyurethanes business and his experience of different global markets will help the company exploit its capabilities and capacity to the full across US operations to supply customers in the Americas and beyond.
Crofton will be based at Huntsman's offices in The Woodlands, Texas, and will work closely with the team at Geismar, the company's major US polyurethanes plant.
"Supply chain is an exciting place to be right now as the world's economies recover and we work to meet customers' needs in a global market," commented Crofton, in a Huntsman announcement.
