Everberg, Belgium - Huntsman Corp. is opening a new service centre in Warsaw, Poland, strengthening the capabilities of its Polyurethanes and Performance Products businesses across Central and Eastern Europe, and the Baltics - territories where MDI demand is growing steadily.
Located in the commercial district of Warsaw - close to the airport and Huntsman's major local customers - the centre includes a sales office, an analytical laboratory, and a meeting facility. A warehouse will also open on site in due course, said Huntsman, in a 17 April announcement at UTECH Europe 2012, being held 17-19 April in Maastricht, the Netherlands.
Huntsman said that Poland has a fast growing economy, making it "an extremely attractive place to do business and the logical location for a commercial gateway into Eastern Europe." In the polyurethanes industry, local demand for MDI is increasing at a rate of more than 10 percent a year.
In the statement, Nick Webster, vice president Europe of Huntsman Polyurethanes, said: 'With a new service centre open for business we will be in a prime position to respond to customer requests quickly and efficiently - increasing our foothold and enabling us to pursue the significant diversified growth opportunities that exist locally."
