The Woodlands, Texas -- Huntsman has announced plans to expand its specialty amines capacities after an "acceleration" in interest in the lines from polyurethane foamers, coatings and lubricant manufacturers.
The firm’s facility in Petfurdo, Hungary, will increase its production capacity by a minimum of 20% thanks to a new multi-purpose unit. At Conroe, Texas in the US, Huntsman will “add equivalent capacity and improve the flexibility of the specialty amine unit,” according to a company press release.
The new capacities are planned to go on stream by 2016. No financial details were disclosed.
According to the company, interest in the product line accelerated "across the globe."
