Romulus, Michigan -- Huntsman has announced plans expand its polyurethanes business with a new propylene oxide MTBE plant in China and it expects that to progress in the next few months.
During a Bank of America Leveraged Finance Conference, the company announced that it is still yet to receive regulatory approval from the Chinese government for earlier plans to build a new MDI plant with BASF.
Huntsman’s chief financial officer J Kimo Esplin said: “We’re optimistic that we will achieve that in the next quarter or so and be able to move forward.”
