Munich, Germany -- Automotive components supplier IAC Group has chosen KraussMaffei as systems supplier for its new plant in Romania.
The order, valued in the double-digit million Euros range, includes the supply of 26 injection moulding machines, systems for polyurethane foaming and punching, and the required tooling for the plant in Bals, Romania. KraussMaffei will also support the development, planning and design of product elements, and provide a number of services.
"KraussMaffei impressed us with their outstanding expertise in injection moulding and polyurethane technology. We're sure that the collaboration between IAC and KraussMaffei on this project will be characterised by mututal trust and successful outcomes - possibly extending beyond the scope of the project," said Mauritis Willaert, vice president operations at IAC Europe, in a 25 Jan statement.
Luxembourg-based IAC will invest Euro 58 million ($79 million) to build the greenfield manufacturing facility in the southwest Oltenia region of Romania. LMH
