Krefeld, Germany - International Automotive Components (IAC) Group has appointed Jonas Nilsson to senior vice president operations Europe.
Nilsson will be in charge of reorganising the company's 27 European plants into focused product groups. He is responsible for manufacturing strategy, finance and capacity planning, quality and logistics for the plants and the 6500 employees in Europe
"Focusing on product groups enables us to deliver superior quality as we share best manufacturing practices across locations. It also gives IAC a competitive price edge, as we can optimise capacity planning and utilisation," said Nilsson in a 29 Nov news release.
In Europe IAC operates ten soft trim plants for vehicle flooring and acoustics solutions, six hard trim plants servicing customers in the northern European region, three hard trim plants supporting the UK-based manufacturers, and eight plants dedicated to hard trim manufacturing in support of central Europe.
IAC said its newest addition is the Bals, Romania plant, which supplies instrument panels, centre consoles, rear doors, front door panels and headliners for the new Ford B-MAX sub compact MPV (multi-purpose vehicle).
